iPhone 17 Air is Getting This Feature Currently Exclusive to Pro Models

Apple is rumored to be planning a thinner "iPhone 17 Air" model for next year. According to a recent Korean report, the device will be equipped with a low-power LTPO display that paves the way for 120Hz ProMotion support.

ProMotion has been limited to the Pro models since it debuted on the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max in 2021, so the report suggesting that all four iPhone 17 models will have 120Hz displays is noteworthy. LTPO technology would ensure that ProMotion does not cause a significant drain on battery life.

iPhones with 120Hz displays have smoother-looking scrolling and video content compared to models with 60Hz displays, like the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.

Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young previously informed MacRumors that the iPhone 17 and "iPhone 17 Air" will likely support ProMotion, and the feature's expansion to the entire iPhone 17 lineup has been rumored multiple times.

As usual, you can expect the next iPhones to be announced in September.
