Apple on Wednesday will announce 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring touch-enabled OLED displays with thinner bezels, a Dynamic Island instead of a notch, M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, and a lighter and slightly thinner design, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports. Apple is hosting a private "Pro and tell" experience in Los Angeles starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time tomorrow.

The base model 14-inch MacBook Pro (the one updated today) is basically a separate product line from the higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
I don't think a 14-inch OLED's coming tomorrow, today's press release makes no sense whatsoever if you're gonna do that tomorrow. Because either there would have been a M6 MBP 16-inch announcement alongside it today or everything would be tomorrow.
In fact, Mark Gurman said the mini-LED models are sticking around for now, so the lineup as of tomorrow is expected to be as follows:
* 14-inch MacBook Pro (M6 chip)
* 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Pro or M5 Max with mini-LED display)
* 16-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Pro or M5 Max with mini-LED display)
* 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Pro or M5 Max with touch-enabled OLED display)
* 16-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Pro or M5 Max with touch-enabled OLED display)
For those into Apple it's always nice to see new things.
I don’t know but everyone seems excited about these updates.
To me Apple to me can be described now as:
- 60 Hz insanity iPad mini + appleTV + not pro laptops
- upgrades that do not justify for regular consumers - super expensive Macbook pros aimed at a small user group who can actually use them
- insane pricing in general
I'm not in the market for a touch-enabled laptop but I am curious to see how/if macOS will resize controls if touch is involved. That alone is an interesting concept for me.
We should continue to see the current miniLED chassis for at least a couple more years.
